There has been
a false rumor being spread that Mamalassery Jacobite Syrian
Orthodox Church has been closed by the Government.
Nothing like that has happened. Our faithful are still
inside the Church. unlawfully entered IO Goon Konaadan wants
to escape from there. But our people have refused this as he
have illegally entered the premises. Faithful demanded that
he has to be legally taken out and no benefit to escape has
to be given. RDO is on talks with our Church authorities.
Due to the
police lathi charge, bleeding little children and women are
found everywhere in the church premises of Mamalassery.

lead atrocities at Mammalassery are totally against the
spirit of Christianity and a shame to the state Judiciary.
The UDF Governement is a failure in controlling the law and
order across the state. People are helpless and hopeless.
Human existence is being questioned day by day...” the Youth
Directorate of Angamaly region strongly criticizes the
latest developments evolving here and there. The police
stand at the Mammalassery event is biased and has to be
corrected by the Government authorities.

is crystal clear and the same would not be practical
anywhere amidst the Jacobites. Infringement with the
sponsorship of orthodox master-minds would invite strong
retort and set-backs from the common folk. Such situations

Director of the Youth Mission opined. Mr. K.M. Joykutty,
P.M. Mathai, Jose Varghese spoke on the occasion.
TENSION PREVAILS IN
MANTHALIR ST. THOMAS JSO CHURCH
May 13 : Metran kakshi
is creating problems in Manthalir JSO Church in connection
with Feast of St.George . Manthalir Church, Shrine at
Kulanada T.B. Junction and other allied properties was ruled
in favour of Jacobite Church by the Hon. High Court on Jan 4
2012. But the police authorities didn’t allowed our Rasa
to enter the Shrine or the Church. But the police
authorities allowed the metran kakshis to enter the
Shrine and conduct the dhoopa prarthana. Role of two
police officers Lal C Baby (SI) and Joseph (Add SI), (both
metran kakshi members) is creating these problems are
evident from their activities. Still the issue is not
settled and tension prevails here.

Feast of St.George and Annual Get-together of Parish Prayer Units
held at St.George’s Chapel, Vellappara
ANGAMALY:
The feast of St.George and annual get-together of Parish Prayer
units were held at St.George’s JS Chapel, Vellappara on 12th May
2012. Vicar Rev.Fr.Alias Ipe Parackal hoisted the perunal flag
marking the beginning of Perunal programme. Soon after the Evening
prayer at the chapel, anniversary of the st.Thomas Prayer unit,
Olivemount, St.George’s Prayer group, Cutting and Mor Ignatius
prayer Unit, Edalakkad were held. Rev.Fr. Thankachan Areeckal
presided over the function. Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe welcomed the
gathering. Annual Reports of the prayer units were read out by the
respective unit secretaries. Various cultural events were held
including a melodious Gaanasandhya. Prizes for the winners of
various arts and sports events were given away by Rev.Fr.K.T. Jacob.
Mr. Aby P.P. proposed the vote of thanks.

Malabar:
Annual youth association camp concluded here at Malabar St. Mary's
JSO Church.
Camp started with the registration of the youth association members
from different parts of India. Close to 800 members got registered.
H.G Mor Thevodosios Mathews ( Kollam diocese & President of Youth
Association) hoisted the flag which marked the official beginning of
the camp. H.G Mor Thevodosios Mathews, H.B Catholicos Dr. Baselios
Thomas I lead the evening prayer held inside the church.
H.B Catholicos Dr. Baselios Thomas I inaugurated the camp during a
public function held after the evening prayer. H.G Mor Osthatheos
Pathrose (Bangalore Diocese ), H.G Dr. Mor Coorilose
Geevarghese (Niranam diocese), H.G Mor Philoxenos Zacharias (Malabar
Diocese)blessed the occasion with their speeches. Mor Irenios
presided over the meeting. Facilitation speeches were delivered by
Church Vicar Rev Fr. George. Youth Association General Secretary
Biju Sacharia delivered the vote of thanks. All the previous general
Secretaries of the Youth Association was honored during the meeting.
Dinner break was followed by the ice breaking / introduction of camp
members & Theme presentation by Mor Thevodosios.

Dukhrono of Mor Geevarghese Sahado was celebrated at St. George
Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church Avadi Chennai on 12th and 13th of
May 2012. Very Rev. K J John Corepiscopa, Mylapore diocesian
secretary and vicar of St. Mary's JSO Church Rattery, Chennai,
celebrated the holy Qurbana. vicar Rev. Fr. Aby Paul lead the
perunnal programmes.
Including the imported Goons from South, only close to 350
people turned out for Indian orthodox group stage show at
Piravom. Only close to 50 people were from Piravom &
surroundings. Interesting fact is that there were more
people in the stage than in the "Pandhal"

Episcopa delivered the benedictory speech. V.Rev.John Punnachalil
Cor Episcopa, Vicar Rev. Fr.Shaji Meppadath, & Assti Vicar Rev.
Fr.Thomas Kochuparambil, Baretho mahero Thampu George Thukalan & the
church managing committee lead the preparations. A colorful cultural
programs were held by 17 family units, Sunday School students,

Mor Coorilos Geevarghese Delivers Theme Address at the National
Theological Students Conference in Bangalore.
Bangalore: Mor
Coorilos Geevarghese, Metropolitan of Niranam diocese delivered the
theme address at the National Theological Students Conference, held
at the United Theological College, Bangalore from 5-7 May 2012. The
Conference was organized by the Board of Theological Education of
the Senate of Serampore College (BTESSC). The inaugural session was
chaired by His Grace Mor Isacc Philexionos. Dr. Mohan Larbeer,
Secretary of BTESC welcomed the gathering. About 100 students from
various theological colleges participated. Three students from MSOT
Seminary also attended the Conference which discussed the theme of
the forthcoming Assembly of the WCC, "God of Life, Lead us into
Justice and Peace".

Church is being held at Mekkadampu Mor Ignathiose Noorono Syrian
Simhasana Church on 19 May 2012 (Saturday). The chief objective of
the camp is to promote and spread the glory of traditional Syriac
music in the worships of our church. His Beatitude Baseliose Thomas
I Catholicose will inaugurate the camp. Metropolitans H.G. Mor
Diaskorose Kuriakose, H.G. Mor Aphrem Mathews and H.G. Mor
Osthatheos Issac will lead the camp. Lectures on various
nuances of Holy Syrian Church and Syriac music would be delivered by

തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ യാക്കോബായ സഭാനേതൃത്വം ഡല്ഹിയില് സോണിയാഗാന്ധിയടക്കമുളള
നേതാക്കന്മാരെ നേരിട്ടു കണ്ടു വിവരം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു. നിയമസഭയിലെ 140
എം.എല്.എ. മാര്ക്കും ശ്രേഷ്ഠ കാതോലിക്ക ബസേലിയോസ് തോമസ് പ്രഥമന്
ബാവ കത്തെഴുതി. തുടര്ന്ന് നിയമസഭയിലെ യാക്കോബായ എം.എല്.എമാരേയും
മന്ത്രിമാരേയും പുത്തന് കുരിശിലെ സഭാ ആസ്ഥാനത്ത് വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി
കാര്യങ്ങള് വിശദീകരിച്ചു.
ഏറ്റവും ഒടുവില് കഴിഞ്ഞയാഴ്ച അകപ്പറമ്പ് മാര് താബോര് അഫ്രേത്ത്
യാക്കോബായ കത്തീഡ്രലില് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഉമ്മന്ചാണ്ടി യാക്കോബായ
നേതൃത്വവുമായി ചര്ച്ച് നടത്തി. മന്ത്രി അനൂപ് ജേക്കബ്, എം.എല്.എമാരായ
ബെന്നി ബഹന്നാന്, ടി.യു.കുരുവിള, യു.ഡി.എഫ്. കണ്വീനര് പി.പി.
തങ്കച്ചന്, കോണ്ഗ്രസ് ജില്ലാ പ്രസിഡന്റ് പി.പി. തങ്കച്ചന്
തുടങ്ങിയവര് ചര്ച്ചയില് പങ്കെടുത്തു. ഈ ചര്ച്ചയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിലാണ്
അന്യായമായ നിലപാട് എടുക്കുന്ന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്ക്കെതിരെ നടപടി ഉയര്ന്നതെന്ന്
അറിയുന്നു. ഇരുവിഭാഗവും രമ്യതയില് മുന്നോട്ടുപോയിരുന്ന കടമറ്റം
പളളിയില് വീണ്ടും സംഘര്ഷത്തിനു കാരണമായത് ആര്.ഡി.ഒ. യുടെ
ഇടപെടലുകളാണെന്ന ആരോപണം ഉയര്ന്നിരുന്നു. ഏറ്റവും ഒടുവില് നടന്ന
കടമറ്റം സംഭവത്തിനൊടുവിലാണ് ആര്.ഡി.ഒ. യെ മാറ്റിക്കൊണ്ടുളള തീരുമാനം
വന്നത്. പോലീസ് ഓഫീസര്മാര്ക്കെതിരെയും നടപടിയുണ്ടാകുമെന്നും
സൂചനയുണ്ട്.
Youth Day & Talent Scan-2012 held at St. Mary’s
JSC Church, Poothamkutty.
ANGAMALY: As part of the Parish-Day celebrations of St. Mary’s
Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, youth day and Talent Scan-2012 of
the St.Mary’s Youth League was held on 6 th May with a string of
Sports and arts items. Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal inaugurated
the programme. Almost all members of the youth League attended the
programme with vigour and enthusiasm. Mr. Delvin Paul, the secretary
presented the annual report and accounts. Several competitions in
arts and sports streams were held for the youngsters at the parish
premises.
Mr. Delvin Paul, Mr. Poly Ittoop, Mr. P. P. Eldhose and Mr. Vibin
Varghese led the programme. Prizes for the winners of various events
were given away by Rev. Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal, the Vicar. The
programme ended with prayer.

Fireworks were a part of the Perunnal Rassa. The Perunnal concluded
with Nercha Sadhya. A large gathering of faithful attended the
Feast and were blessed.

Parish-Day celebrations and Anniversary of various spiritual
organizations of St.Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox
Church, Poothamkutty have jointly been held on 5th & 6th
May 2012 at the Church premises. The programme started with Holy
Qurbono by the Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal. Special prayers for
the parish and prelates of the holy Church were held during the Holy
Qurbono. Various cultural and spiritual items were staged in which
all spiritual organizations of the parish actively participated. A
sumptuous lunch was served to all.

BIRMINGHAM/UK: Feast of
St. George & Parish day were celebrated at St George Jacobite Syrian
Orth0dox Church, Birmingham on 5th May 2012. Rev Fr Varghese
celebrated Holy Qurbono. Vicar Rev. Fr. Thomas Puthiyamadathil, and
Rev Dn. Sijo assisted. Special Intercessory prayers to St George
with incense, Perunnal Rassa and benediction followed. The Perunnal
concluded with NerchaSadhya. Later in the afternoon Rev Fr Varghese
Inaugurated the Parish day. Sunday School students and members of
spiritual organizations staged various cultural programmes.
