Reconstruction of Mor Sabore Afroth JSO
Simhasana Church, Thuruthisserry in progress
ANGAMALY: Reconstruction work of the Mor
Sabore Afroth Simhasana church, Thuruthissery is under progress. The
newly constructing Church has an area of 7,500 sq.ft and the final
stage work of the same is undergoing very smoothly. Foundation
laying ceremony of the new bishop house has been done by H.B.
Catholicos Thomas I and the construction work is about to start
shortly. Under the spiritual oversee of Mor Athanasius Elias
Metropolitan, the project is fast approaching last phase. Fr. Alias
Ipe Parackal is the Vicar of the Church. Mor Athanasius English
Medium School, under the patronage of the simhasana Church,
Thuruthissery is having a total strength of near about 500 students
which is also improving very well. This church and institutions are
situated hardly 1.5 Km away from the Cochin International Airport.

The feast of St. George will be held at Simhasana Church,
Thuruthissery on 30th April & 1stMay 2010. His Beatitude Dr. Aboon
Mor Baselios Thomas I, Catholicose of the Jacobite Syrian Christian
Church & Mor Athanasius Elias of Antiochean Movement would lead the
Perunal programme. After the Holy Qurbono on Saturday, the
30th April, Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal, the Vicar will hoist the perunal
flag. His Beatitude will lead the Evening prayer and deliver the
perunal message. On Sunday, the 1st May, Very. Rev. Roy Abraham
Kochatt Cor Episcopa will celebrate the Holy Qurbono. Special
intercessory prayers will be held during the holy Qurbono followed
by procession and distribution of Nercha.

ERNAKULAM:
Metropolitan Dr. Mor Coorilos Geevarghese joined in hands with the
people of Moolampilly in the protest held at Menaka Junction,
Ernakulam on Easter Day, April 24, Sunday. Justice Dr. V R Krishan
Iyer inaugurated the protest. Rev. Francis Kalathungal, General
Convenor of Coordination Committee presided over. Hundreds of people

Cheppadu: The Very
Rev. Mathews Ramban, Secretary (Malankara Affairs) to His Holiness
the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East has been accorded a warm
reception in his home parish, St. George Jacobite Syrian Church,
Cheppadu, under Niranam diocese. At a meeting organized by the
parish, Very Rev. Mathews Ramban was felicitated by the diocesean
Metropolitan Mor Coorilos Geevarghese, Fr. Sherry Issac, Fr. Reji
Mathew and others. He was on a short trip to India to lead the
Passion Week Services at Secunderabad JSO Church and this was his
first visit to his home parish after he has been ordained as a monk
by the Holy Father.

The newly built St.
George Horeb Jacobite Syrian Church will be consecrated on 9th and
10th May 2011 by His Beatitude Aboon Baselius Thomas I. The Building
work has reached its final stage and is nearing completion. Mor
Coorilos Geeverghese, the diocesan Metropolitan today visited the
church and saw the progress of the work. The members of the youth
association of the church are actively involved in volunteer work.

ANGAMALY: Holy Week
Services of the Mor Sabore Aphroth Simhasanapally, Thuruthissery,
Angamally has been started with Passion Week Preparatory Service and
Hosana Service. Passion Week Preparatory Service was started with
Meditation and Bible Convention. Vicar Rev.Fr.Alias Ipe gave the
key-note address. Hosanna Service was held on Sunday, the 17th
April, 2011 which was led by the Vicar Rev.Fr.Alias Ipe. Holy
Confession has been arranged from Half-lent day onwards. Special
preparatory Service for children to receive Holy Qurbana will be
held on Thursday, 20th April at 4.30 PM at the Mor Gregorius Prayer
Tower Hall, Thuruthissery. Pesaha and Easter Services are slated to
be held on Wednesday evening and Saturday evening respectively.
